Urban Art Commissions: Why Things Are Getting Wonderfully Wonky
If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be turning away art commissions because I was too busy, I’d have laughed, looked at my empty calendar, and gone back to doodling crooked rooftops. Yet here we are. My urban art commissions have taken on a life of their own, and I’m thrilled to say I’m now fully in my “wonky building era”.
My Style: Proudly Not Straight‑Lined

Let’s get one thing clear: if you’re looking for a perfectly straight, architect‑approved technical drawing… I’m probably not your artist. My style lives somewhere between “urban sketcher” and “that building looks like it’s had a long day and needs a sit‑down”.
I love character. I love personality. I love a building that looks like it’s leaning in to tell you a secret. The more quirky, the better. Give me chimneys that wobble, windows that wink, rooftops that sag with charm. That’s where the magic happens.
Modern buildings? Oh, I’ll draw them too — but only if I’m allowed to give them a bit of soul. A straight‑edged glass box can absolutely have personality… it just needs the right artist to coax it out.
When I Say No (And Why That’s a Good Thing)
As commissions have grown, I’ve had to politely decline a few requests. Not because I don’t appreciate the interest — I really do — but because some pieces simply don’t fit my style.
If your brief requires laser‑straight lines, hyper‑realistic shading, or a building that looks like it’s never once considered bending the rules… then we might not be the best match. And that’s okay. Art should feel right for both the artist and the client.
Saying no means I get to say a bigger, more enthusiastic YES to the projects that light me up — and those are the ones that turn out the best.
And Yes… Sometimes, not too often… I Draw Animals
Every now and then, an animal sneaks into my sketchbook. But I’m picky. Not every creature has the right vibe. Some animals just belong in my world of playful lines and urban charm. Others… well, let’s just say they’re better off with someone who specialises in fur, feathers, and photorealism.
If your animal has attitude, quirk, or a slightly mischievous glint, we might be in business.
Commissions From Just £95
Whether it’s your home, your favourite café, your street, your business, or a building that simply makes you smile, I’d love to bring it to life in my signature style. Prices start from just £95, making it a perfect gift, keepsake, or treat‑yourself moment.
If you’re after something a little crooked, a little characterful, and a lot joyful — you’re in the right place.
